BUA Cement Plc Commissions 7 Solar Boreholes, Distributing Uniforms, 25 Solar Streetlights, 25 Electric Poles And Wiring, 5 Toilets At Almajiri School And Donation Of Cement To Communities In Wamakko Local Government

In a significant display of corporate social responsibility, BUA Cement PLC, under the leadership of Managing Director/CEO Engr Yusuf H. Binji, commissioned solar-powered boreholes, distributed school uniforms, and donated cement to communities in Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State. This event, held on February 18, 2025, highlighted the company's dedication to sustainable growth and enhancing the quality of life for local residents.
Engr Yusuf H. Binji addressed stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of investing in the communities where BUA operates. "Our success is intrinsically linked to the well-being of these communities," he stated. He announced the commissioning of boreholes in several villages, including Illela (2), Gidan Bazamfare, Gidan Maituta, Gidan Gamba, Gidan Baduwa, and Almajiri School Kalambaina. Additional projects included the installation of 50 solar streetlights at Asare village, 25 electric poles and wiring for Gidan Yaro, and the renovation of five toilets at Almajiri School. The company also distributed uniforms to five community schools:
1. Gidan Bailu/Gidan Datti Primary School: 1,390 sets (316 boys & 379 girls)
2. Sabon Garin Alu Primary School: 1,600 sets (392 boys & 408 girls)
3. Gidan Boka Primary School: 348 sets (85 boys & 89 girls)
4. Gantsare Primary School: 310 sets (57 boys & 98 girls)
5. Gidan Gamba Primary School: 552 sets (177 boys & 99 girls)
Engr Binji reiterated BUA Cement's commitment to corporate social responsibility, stating, "We aim to create shared value for all stakeholders." He encouraged beneficiaries to maintain the projects and assured them of BUA's support for any future needs.
